Australian Drug Court Magistrate Makes Bid for SCRAM Monitoring of Criminals

Victorian Drug Court Magistrate Tony Parsons has made a parliamentary inquiry regarding the requirement for criminals to wear SCRAM Continuous Alcohol Monitoring bracelets.  These devices would monitor alcohol consumption 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  Currently a court may require an offender to wear an electronic monitoring device on a community corrections order

Hawaii Bill requiring repeat alcohol offenders to wear alcohol-monitoring device passes House

The Honolulu Prosecuting Attorney has proposed a package that would require repeat alcohol-offenders to wear a continuous alcohol monitoring bracelet such as a SCRAM device.  HB306 passed the House and was is awaiting approval at the Senate.  If passed, the bill would require 90 days of continuous remote alcohol monitoring as a condition of bail

Lancaster County Repeat Drunk Drivers Remain Sober While Monitored with SCRAM
