March 2021 – Fatal Pedestrian Accident Near Stanton (Orange County Register)
A person suspected of driving under the influence near Stanton was arrested after allegedly striking a pedestrian crossing Katella Avenue.
February 2021 – Fatal DUI Crash in Tustin (Orange County Register)
According to the OC Register, the driver of a BMW sedan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) after colliding with an SUV on the 55 Freeway. A passenger in the BMW was killed as a result of the crash.
January 2021 – Driver Arrested for DUI in Multi-Vehicle Fatal Crash in Huntington Beach (Los Angeles Times – Daily Pilot)
A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic colliding head-on with a Toyota Solara before striking a Lexus RX350. The accident killed the 19-year-old driver of the Solara and the 71-year-old driver of the Lexus. A passenger in the Lexus was also injured.
December 2020 – DUI Crash Kills 2, Injures 3 in Newport Beach (ABC 7 News)
Late last year a 22-year-old woman was charged with felony driving under the influence causing bodily injury, felony hit and run, two counts of murder, and other charges after she allegedly ran a red light, colliding with a car in Newport Beach. The car contained a family of five. The parents were killed as a result of the crash and their three daughters were seriously injured.
These are just a few of the devastating accidents involving a suspected drunk driver. Tens of thousands of people are killed every year in these preventable traffic accidents.
